I am a US ARMY Veteran, Former Deputy Sheriff, Patriot, Survivalist and a Prepper for the last 10 years. It was the Prepper Community that helped me get started and I really want to give something back.
I created American Preppers Online because I love it and believe that in the near future, the thin veneer that holds our Society together will fail.

Just saw your post, and I agreed about Dragon Naturally Speaking. I tried Dragon Naturally Speaking a couple of years ago and found that it was very awkward to work with. I currently am very happy with the voice recognition program that is on my Android Samsung S5 cell phone. As a matter fact, this letter that I am putting in here right now is using voice recognition software on the cell phone and so far it hasn’t had any errors. If you use the word period or the word comma it would normally insert a , or a . For you. As you can see sometimes it just inserts them when you actually want to spell out the word and then you have to correct it. The other thing I’ve noticed is it doesn’t pick up on any swear words such as the word b******t* other than that, I think it works pretty good.

As a test, I emailed this myself from the cell, did a cut n paste into your comments.
The swearword was bullshit, and if you say command words like “comma, period, space, or enter” it USUALLY works, but those things seem to require some edit. Other stuff works well.

When I was stationed in the Philippines, the locals trained in eskrima. They had a bolo in each hand. How do you defend against eskrima?

I have to admit I had never heard of Eskrima, so I went online and watched a few videos on the subject. Now I don’t know about you but in my case, I would use a 45cal. 🙂
