Knowing your enemy is the first step to surviving when SHTF hits!

Hello my friend and welcome back!  Today we are going to talk about how knowing your enemy is the first step to surviving when SHTF hits!  No matter if it is FEMA, DHS or Raiders, it is the key to success in surviving any fight. Grab a cup of coffee and have a seat while we visit.

History has taught us that it is almost impossible to win a fight with an enemy that you know nothing about.  While it can be done and has been done, it is the exception rather than the rule.   Great Generals down through all of recorded history have written volumes about its importance and the critical part it plays when developing a winning strategy. But just how do you get to know your enemy after all, it’s not like you can just walk up to them and ask them for all of their secrets or can you? The answer to that question would depend on just who they were.  The trick is to start now and learn all you can about potential threats.

So, who are these potential threats I speak of?  Let’s start by breaking them down into three groups.  The first group will be governmental and will include groups like DHS and FEMA but also local government groups as well. Don’t let yourself believe for a minute that when people start getting hungry that the Politicians won’t begin throwing their weight around to make sure they come out on top. They will garner as much power, food and wealth as they can for themselves and their cohorts.

The next group will be the City Gangs and groups of people that think that just because they have a little firepower that they can just take what they want.  Then of course you have the walking dead that are willing to do anything to stay alive, even kill for it!   While knowing these individuals would be impossible, there are certain things that you can derive from analyzing the motive of their actions.

The third and final group is foreign agents and troupes that could attack the US without provocation or notice.  With these it will be a little tougher than the other two groups as there will be little usable information available on them available.

So how do you gather Intel on these groups without them knowing it?  You do it by starting now!   The first group is easy, and all you need to do is put forth a little effort and be imaginative.  There is tons of information available on the internet on both the DHS and the FEMA groups.  As we already know what their motivation will be, we just need to learn their command structures as well as just what kind of toys they have access to.  There is a FEMA website where you can sign up to learn what they call “ICS Courses” These ICS training is all done on line and are intended for educating people who wish to work with FEMA in an Emergency situation.  The courses explain the interior command structure as well as the requirements thy have for handling different procedures.  So how can this help you? If you understand these things then you will be able to identify whether you are dealing with a small group of people or the advanced scouts for a much larger group.  Learn everything you can about them.  Volunteer to be a part of some of the support groups that they have such as ARES (Armature Radio Emergency Service) or the Red Cross.  While improving your survival knowledge, you will also have the opportunity to learn much more about FEMA and DHS than you ever could hope to learn on you own.

The next group will be the gangs of Raiders as well as the walking dead.  Most motorcycle clubs have a pretty complicated structure and some even use the “Roberts Rules of Order” for conducting their meetings.  Do not underestimate them because that could be a deadly mistake.  Now don’t misunderstand me, there are tons of Motorcycle groups out there that will do everything that they can to help those that they come in contact with.  Just don’t count on all of them being that way.  With this group, the best you can hope for is to understand what their motivation is and what weapons they will have access to.   If you are dealing with a heavily armed group, then you would deal with them much differently than you would with a group of starving individuals that have only basic weapons.

The last group is foreign invaders.  With nothing more than hand held weapons, then your best tactic would be to use Gorilla war fair and hit and run tactics to ware down their moral.  Remember that they are in a foreign country and away from their family and loved ones.  This is the last place they want to be so using that to your advantage, make them really want to go home or make it too costly for them to remain on our soil.

Understanding the amount of training and organization has as well as its motivation will help you to plan the most successful campaign that you possibly can.  Remember to use misdirection whenever possible and that the only sure way to win a fight is to not have one to start with.  Staying hidden as long as possible will get you more time to learn about your enemy and delay them from confronting you.  Always remember that there is no substitute for having the advantage of surprise and never attack when or where they expect you too.  Maybe take the time now to read up on military tactics so when the time comes, you will have the advantage.  Well that is it for today and I hope you have enjoyed today’s post.  Until next time, stay safe, stay strong and stay prepared!
