Hello, my friend and welcome back! My good friends at 3V Gear sent me one of their Hydro Tanker 2L water reservoirs to test out and man it is nice! Now grab a cup of coffee my friend and have a seat while we visit.
We all understand the need to be able to easily carry plenty of water in the field. It can literally mean the difference between life and death. The easiest way to do this is to carry a water reservoir in your backpack with a drinking hose for easy access. Unfortunately, however, finding a good one can be complicated and costly. Let’s take a look at what 3V says about this reservoir.

Wow! That’s a pretty impressive list, now let me tell you what I found when trying it out.
First, the way you fill it. Rather than have the small screw on opening to fill it and clean it with, it has a large opening. The clasp type design allows you to easily fill it. It also makes cleaning the inside a lot easier. Most water reservoirs require you to try to stick a brush through a small opening and thrash it about to clean them. Not this one. Even with my large hands, I can easily get them into the entire inside. Since no one wants to drink dirty water, this is a big advantage.
Second, the material which it’s made from is very soft and thick yet very supple. With no BPA’s or PVC to worry about, the water doesn’t pick up any chemical taste. The reservoir is made of a material that actually helps fight the build-up of bacteria. I found that it fit in my bugout bag perfectly. I really like this reservoir!
Third, it comes with a clip to attach the drinking hose to the straps on your bag. This is really nice seeing as most reservoirs don’t. I really like the bite me a tip on the drinking hose which makes it really convenient to grab a quick drink without the need to deal with water dripping down the front of your pack like many other types do.
Like everything else from 3V Gear, the quality is exceptional, and I can see me using it time and time again. I am definently giving this one 5 stars. It easily beats all other reservoirs I have seen. And the price is awesome. As a prepper, I can highly recommend this Reservoir and suggest that everyone gets one for their bags. It really is a great buy!
