Review: Preps that actually taste great and are affordable!

Hello, my friend and welcome back!  If you are like me, you are always looking for a good deal on food preps.  The trouble is trying to find some that actually lives up to their hype and taste good as well.  Today I’m going to be reviewing Valley Food Storage products that were sent to me and I think you are really going to want to read this one.  Grab a cup of coffee and have a seat while we visit.

Food is one thing all Preppers are concerned about since when it all falls apart, a lot of people will starve.  This is true of almost all scenarios, so it’s only prudent that we should store up as much as we can.  The trouble is most of it taste like crap, to say the least.

I have eaten MREs, Dehydrated food (from many companies) and even Sea Rations before, and I need to be honest with you, none of it tastes good at all.  You would truly have to be starving to eat MREs. Dehydrated food taste like styrofoam, once you hydrate it.  Then there is that fact that none of the food that is supposed to last 20 to 25 years will actually last that long or have any seasoning in them.

Valley Food Storage contacted me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing some of their products.  I reluctantly said yes, and I’m glad I did.  You see their products are Freeze Dried and not dehydrated.  I didn’t really think there was any difference until I received their packages and tasted some of what they had sent.

Let’s start with the bag of Freeze Dried Pineapple Chunks:  They are great right out of the bag, so much so that my wife had to take the bag away from me to stop me from eating them all.  They taste great just they are, like fresh chunk pineapple.  Once you add water and  rehydrate them you can use them in any recipe or eat like that.  Now before you start bashing me, let me say that I know that freeze drying is still a form of dehydrating food, but what a difference it makes!

I added some of the pineapple chunks to some milk and waited a few minutes and then added my cold cereal and I was in heaven. Damn; it was good!  They also sent me a pack of raspberries and a pack of apple slices which I also tried right out of the bag.  They too, are great tasting and when you add them to hot cereal or oatmeal, they come alive with flavor.  They can turn a bland boring breakfast into something special.  They can also be used when baking to make a special cake or cupcakes.

Ok, enough of that, let’s get to the Entrees because let’s face it; this is where the tires meet the road.  When I look at what other companies offer, it’s frustrating, to say the least.  Almost everything they offer is either precooked or contains noodles of some kind.  Once you rehydrate them the noodles turn to paste, but that is NOT the case with Valley Food Storage products.

One of the items they sent me to try was their “Irish Pub Cheddar Potato Soup”.  To be honest, I didn’t have my hopes up about it, but boy was I pleasantly surprised!  I could just imagine being cold, hungry and tired then sitting down to a big bowl of this.  You would think you were in heaven!  This is some of the best tasting potato soup I have ever had!  It’s not watered down, but thick, flavorful and seasoned to perfection! This is good eating anytime.

My wife is very picky and even she kept saying how good the potato soup was and that is saying something.  Another item they sent us was their Pasta Primavera which I also devoured.  I honestly don’t think they make anything that doesn’t taste good if this is any indication.  All in all the food was amazing and the fact that these freeze dried packs will actually last 25 years on the shelf is a huge plus.

So let’s talk about what you are really wondering about right now, and that’s price.  The regular price of the Irish Pub Cheddar potato soup and the Pasta Primavera is $11.95 for a resealable pouch with 5 serving in it.  One pouch of this will feed two to 3 BIG Men or 5 normal people.  Do the math and it is much cheaper than anything I have found so far.  In fact,my wife informed me we are going to replace our food preps with food from the Valley Food Storage website and that was it.

You’re probably wondering about shipping if you’re like me, are they going to stick you with extra charges?    … SHIPPING IS FREE!   Yes, that is right “FREE”!  No sneaky hidden charges just great food at a great price.  Now don’t get me wrong, if it had tasted bad, then this review would have said so because I know your preps are as important to you as mine are to me.  If you don’t believe me then order a sample pack and taste for yourself.  I’m telling you it’s the best value and taste on the market I have ever found.  It is so good that I am going to advertise it on my site so that other preppers can see it and try it.

They have asked me to let you know that during the holidays they are running a half price special and there is no way you are going to beat the price.  In fact,t last night I place an order of food just for my wife to put in her pantry.  If you care about what you are going to be eating when it all falls apart then this is something you seriously need to look into.  I give them 5 out of 5 stars !

Well, I guess that is it for today and I hope you have found the review helpful.  Until next time, stay safe, stay strong, and stay prepared.  God Bless America!
