Hello, my friend and welcome back! As per my previous review on the samples sent to me by my friends at Valley Food Storage, today’s post is a review of their Freeze-Dried Chicken. Grab yourself a cup of coffee my friend and have a seat while we visit.
Seller & Price: valleyfoodstorage.com – $19.95 for a bag containing 5 cups of Freeze Dried White Chicken
Product Description: Each Bag contains TEN servings of 100% Freeze Dried Cooked white chicken pieces. Simply mix 1/2 cup of Freeze-Dried Chicken to 1 cup of boiling water. Let sit for 5 minutes and drain off excess water.
First impressions: The Freeze Dried Diced Beef was amazing but Freeze Dried White Chicken? Will it be tough? Or Dry?
Type of testing done: My wife prepared the chicken dices as per directions… She decided to create an SHTF style meal with it, only ingredients we would have if SHTF. We received samples of Entrees, from Valley Food Storage a while back, which included Freeze Dried Pasta Primavera. We had only used ½ of it so my smart wife decided to prepare it as directed and combine it with the prepared Valley Food Storage Freeze Dried Chicken! She made this meal adding water only.
We had the dinner last night and I must say that we were both very happy with how great the meat tasted on its own after hydration and how moist and tender it was. Added to the entrée, made it a very delicious and filling meal. I could see this Freeze Dried Chicken used in soups, chicken, and dumplings, chicken salad, anything you would use raw chicken breast in.

Conclusion: This adds another viable alternative for adding meat to your preps. I mean canned meat is fine, but admit it; it’s kind of hard to carry in a bug out bag. This meat comes in a Mylar zip closure bag with rehydrating instructions, which will fit neatly in your bug out bag. Taste great and is a great value as well. All in all, we give it five out of five stars!
If you’re looking to add meat to your preps that taste good and won’t break the bank, this is it! Order a bag and try it and you will see for yourself. This is good stuff and have already added some to my preps, but will definitely add as much as I can to my preps. With a 25-year shelf life, you can’t go wrong.
Well, that is it for today’s review and I hope you have found it as informative as I have. Until next time, stay safe, stay strong and stay prepared. God Bless America!
