I just shopped at Radio Shack yesterday.
Really? All of the stores here are shut down and I was told that the Radioshack company went bankrupt. Now there was some talk that another company was buying them, but I have never heard any more about it. In any case, good to know! Thanks for the information.

In my opinion, Uniden makes the best scanners on the market. The fact that it has 300 channels that you can program using your PC will save you tons of time programming it. The narrow band will help reduce chatter from nearby frequencies. What does worry me is that there is just a whole lot of information that they don’t talk about like frequency range or if it has GPS capabilities that automatically locate the correct frequencies for where you are currently located. It also doesn’t say whether or not it supports “Trunking” which is what most police and emergency Services use. I would say look around and you may find a much better deal for the same amount of money. Of corse that’s just my opinion. 🙂
