The never ending list!

Now I don’t know about you, but since I started prepping, I have developed a “Never Ending List”.  What is on this list you might ask?  It’s the list of supplies that I need to buy and it seems I am constantly reprioritizing it.  I add things to it and moving things form the bottom to the top of the list, based on current events and what SHTF scenarios seem to be the most likely at that point in time.  This is the subject of today’s post.

First let’s start with what is basically on the list. Well, there is Food, Guns, Ammunition, Water, Medical Supplies, and Communications Equipment just to name a few.  While looking at current events and trying to figure out what scenarios are the most likely to play out, I look to see if I need to shift my priorities based on my current inventory.

Let me give you an example of what I mean:  When the Ebola virus was spreading around the world, my focus was on Medical supplies.  When they started talking about ammunition shortages, I began to stock up on Ammunition, just to be sure I had enough when SHTF hits.  Yes, I know that I am doing exactly what the industry wants me to do, but it is better than being caught without what I need.  Just like the attacks in Paris last Friday, I am now re-evaluating my gun and ammo selection once again.  I suppose that most Preppers do this whether they admit it or not.   I find myself wondering if I have enough ammunition for the firearms I have or whether I need more.  I also wonder if there are other firearms that I need in other calibers or if what I have is enough?

Now don’t miss understand me, I don’t just run out and start buying things I think I might need.  I am not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, and in fact, like many other Preppers, I have to save up to buy what I need.  The list is just for prioritizing the funds I do have, which isn’t much.   I find that it is the best way to come up with what I need and hopefully, have it when the time comes.  Like the rest of you, I still have to get up each morning and go to work.  It is the only way to support my family and my prepping needs.  I figure I am so lucky to have a job in this day and time, so I need to make the best of it.

It seems like at least every other day, I am adding something new to that list, something that I hadn’t thought of before.  Just last week, I added a survival trailer to my list, but now it looks like it might have to wait for a few more months before I can even think about getting one. By getting one, I mean a cheap trailer base that I can build what I want on it.  I may still do it if I can find a really good deal on one, but with Christmas coming, it would have to be a REALLY good deal!  🙂

I am sure you are finding that your prepping list is never-ending as well, so I’m sure you understand what I am talking about.  If you don’t have a list then you really need to start one.  With out it you will never be sure of what you have and if you have everything you need.  You still need to add the basics each month such as food, but adding new items to your list, helps keep your list up to date and interesting.  Well that is it for today, so until next time, Keep on prepping!
